Gordon in his book, Quiet Talks on Prayer, says. And every time we see Jesus praying He was praying with passion.
In Luke at His Baptism - while He was praying the heaven was opened. Passionate prayer opens Heaven. In Luke before He called His disciples - He spent the whole night in prayer. Passionate prayer gives direction. In Luke at His transfiguration - And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.

Pray, making intercession Intercessory prayer is basically praying for others, it is praying for God's will to be done in the lives of other people. Listen to the intercessory nature of this prayer, "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom Thou has given Me.
And Hebrews says, "Hence, also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Intercessory prayer changes things. He said: Years ago in a church in Dallas we were having trouble finding a teacher for a junior high boys class.
We must pray for others. Five things that happen when we pray: 1. Prayer internalizes the burde n It deepens our ownership of the burden and our partnership with God. Prayer forces us to wait Part of prayer is always waiting for God. Prayer opens our spiritual eyes It enables us to get in touch with what God is doing and how He is doing it. After a dramatic conversion experience, Paul spent years coming to terms with the revelation he had received before being taken under the wing of Barnabas. The pair were then appointed to visit the Jewish diaspora, a work which Paul would eventually continue on his own. The predominance of ethnic Jews within the church began to wane with the influx of gentile converts. It is likely to have contained at least some parts of the Sermon. Papias implies that written sources of these sayings already existed, but that he preferred to go to human sources Maier , Marcion of Sinope ca. He postulated that the God of the Hebrew Bible differed from the God of the New Testament and therefore sought to reject all three synoptic gospels, and with them the Sermon on the Mount.
The most widespread and notorious of these strategies was the double standard approach which developed by the time of the Middle Ages, requiring the sermon to be taken seriously by only some members of the Church.
