Prairie Schooner Book Prize In Poetry Series

May-lee Chai is the author of eight books of fiction and nonfiction and one book-length translation from Chinese to English of the Autobiography of Ba Jin. She teaches in the mfa program in creative writing at San Francisco State University. She teaches at the University of Miami. She writes personal essays and is working on a novel and a book of poetry. Her experiences as a former child protective services social worker and sexual assault victim advocate, and her own struggles with mental health guide her writing.
